The handmade sleigh, made from popsicle sticks...
Here is the lovely ornament I made last year by covering a clear ornament with tissue paper and a glue/water mixture...
Many years ago my mom made a bunch of these needlepoint ornaments...
And here is my favorite...the wooden frame with my face picture in it. What a great smile I have. And nice girl scout uniform I'm wearing...
I didn't make this ornament but it's currently one of my faves. I demanded that we get some sort of Christmas ornament when we were on our honeymoon in Hawaii so we got this pineapple. I like it...
Whenever I decorate the Christmas tree, I always like to enjoy a nice bowl of Chex Mix. I pretty much just follow the recipe from the box. I just used cashews (instead of mixed nuts) and pretzels (no bagel chips) and only 2 types of Chex (instead of the recommended 3) this time.
How is your Christmas tree?
Do you make any ornaments?
Do you have any traditions (like Chex mix) for tree decorating night?
PS-And no, Chex did not sponsor this blog but when I was reading back through it the last part sounds a little like a commercial for Chex.
PPS-Shana is having amazing week long Christmas giveaways on her blog so check those out if you want to win something cool.

Yes, your chex mix is good. I could be happy with all dark chex. The most seasoning gets stuck to those. Im taken back to the Shannon St. all purple christmas tree, i tired to help decorate it, but i think all the ornaments i placed got repositioned.
Sadly our tree hasn't made it up yet...can you say slacker!
I love your homemade ornaments and the pineapple is fantastic! We have the big 70s diff color ceramic bulbs and all our ornaments are made or have been given to us. They all make me so happy. I've been thinking I'll have to do a post once I get off my rear.
Our only tradition is that a christmas movie has to be playing in the background...usually Christmas Vacation.
I always loved helping my Mom decorate her tree - she still had every ornament I made in elementary school.
I am lazy, and my tree is small and pre-decorated...but I love it just the same.
I love the pineapple. It's got special memories and it's so pretty! A perfect ornament.
Thanks for the bloggy love.
I haven't made my own ornaments since probably elementary school! We will be making gingerbread houses at our No Boys Allowed Holiday Gift Exchange.
How is your Christmas tree? It's doing well! But sometimes I find my ornaments in random places like behind the sofa lol, it's the kiten not gav (finally!)
Do you make any ornaments? Yeah, like 75%! and why isn't gav making me any at school? I have I think ever ornament I've ever made is on my tree, even (especially!) the crappy ones from like kindergarden before we could use scissors.
Do you have any traditions (like Chex mix) for tree decorating night? well... when I'm at home w/ the fam we listen to manehim steemroller and drink eggnog. this year gav watched nick jr while I put the tree up (he wasn't interested. what's up w/ that???) but he helped put the cool ones up, like the cracker barrell one lol.
I put my tree up a few days ago. We listen to Christmas music as we put it up. My mom also gave me my ornament from when I was growing up for my own tree.
I love the idea of getting an ornament on our honeymoon. I'm stealing that idea. Thanks!
I have a sleigh almost exactly like yours! I think I made it when I was in 3rd or 4th grade!
HONEST TO GOD, whenever I think of Chex Mix I think of you! So I like that you're still making it. Good stuff. And I totally forgot about the purple tree at Shannon St ... what a good memory you have Bonnie :)
We, gasp, have not purchased a tree yet ... and we may, double gasp, not. If this happens it will be the first time I've ever not put up a tree. But sigh, we do have some hand made ornaments in the bunch. Love the memories.
I have my purple and blue hue tree up this year and it is gorgeous I must say! Gene did not decorate as you know I am picky about my ornament positioning. Hopefully if we have a house next year I am going wild with decorations.
