They look like this. Basically they just looked like dirty glasses.
I think we may not have used right kind of stickers and maybe we were not putting enough etching cream on the glass. We're not really sure. We did end up making a few monogrammed glasses that looked decent but I'll show you those at a later time. I was pretty sad about the snowflake glasses but I just have to remember that all (most?) my craft projects are not going to be a success. Ahhhh, the joys of crafting.
Has anyone else ever used etching cream to etch glasses?
Are you doing any holiday crafting?

I've never etched glasses, and my holiday crafting is limited to making candy bar wrappers for Hershey bars. I think that was a really good try at the glasses - anything I try by Martha doesn't turn out like the example. :)
There is a funny blog for craft projects that *didn't quite* work out. It's call "Craft Fail": http://craftfail.com/ . I enjoy reading it, mostly because I can relate to the failing of the crafts!
dang, that could have been awesome!
have you seen this site, not martha?

omg, this girl is freaking amazing! look at the gingerbread house and also the tiny jar pies!
I gave up on Marth a long time ago. Nothing I try to do comes out the way it does for her. So I stopped trying. I do applaud your effort though...I've heard etching is not easy and if they had turned out they would have been awesome.
I'm actually going to do a crafting project this weekend that involves printing pictures of the dogs onto transfer paper and then ironing it onto a canvas. I don't have high hopes for it turning out well, but the supplies weren't that expensive and if it works it will be great.
A for effort! Martha makes everything look easy.
Damn that perfect Martha. Like hell I could ever make anything that looks like that. For a first try, I think you did pretty well...she just makes everything look easy.
Can anyone ever do what Martha does? Good on you for trying! I don't even attempt her stuff. Well maybe recipes, but never crafts
I've never tried to do this but it looks too crafty for me! I can only trace things and even that never turns out well lol
did u leave it on long enough? and make sure those stickers are down and no seepage.
i just adore your blog. i'm a follower!
Yes i think the stickers were partially at fault, but even if the stickers were perfect, the cream was not etching well, it looked like a glass that had a thin layer of milk sitting in it for over a day. Apparently Martha has a bad rep among crafters, good to know.
