Craft Room Renovations Part 1-Curtain Doors

I was wandering through the fabric store one day over Christmas break when I found this fabric on sale that I really liked.  I decided I would use it to make a curtain door for my craft room closet.  I didn't really like the folding doors that were already on it because it was hard to get in and out of.  I purchased the fabric and took it home and decided I didn't like the color of the room with this fabric, so I decided to just go ahead and paint the room.  That totally makes sense, right?  That was the beginning of my craft room renovations.

So over about 5 random days I made these curtains.  Why is there a big blue strip at the bottom?  That would be because the fabric I got was too short.  Oops.  I'm still not very good at sewing (a straight line in particular) and there was a lot of trial and error with these curtains.  In the end, I think I like them.  I'm not positive.  But I think I do.  I'm still not sure about that blue on the bottom or the actual length of the curtains.
So here are some photos.  It was hard for me to figure out the lighting and angle to take pictures so these are a little weird.  The green of the room does not really look like it does in real life.
The room is not really this shade of green.

I'm trying to organize the inside of the closet for storing all my random stuff.
So that's part 1 of the many things I have done to this room.  I know you can't wait to hear about the rest!  PS-I blame this blog for making me think I could suddenly be a DIY home decor expert.

Have you ever sewn curtains?  Or a curtain door?

I think you did a great job putting your room together. That green on the photo really is NOT the color of the walls- much prettier in person. I never even noticed the big blue strip that shows so well in the photo, so I don't think anyone else will either. I really like your happy craft room.

HUGE fan of this renovation! Much better than the closet doors. I wanted to this for our house in NC, but I'm not a big home DIYer. I've never sewen curtains, doors, table clothes, etc. I do still have a sewing machine, which hasn't been used in five years tho. Ah well, I love the craft closet!

I actually really like the stripe of solid color at the bottom. It's a nice break for the eye. And somehow seems more finished.

I love your curtains, and even though it's not that color green, I like the walls too! Great job! I can't wait to have my own house to do crafty things to!

My closet doors in college were made out of sheets! my mom used iron on hems to create the folded over fabric so it could hang. She's crafty. You're crafty. I'm not so much crafty.

Good job on the curtains. I also like the blue fabric at the bottom. You should just tell people that was the plan from the beginning.

I do not sew at all. Like I don't even know how to sew a button on. Maybe I should have my mom teach me?

These look great and I love the blue on the bottom! I would have thought it was totally planned if you hadn't said otherwise. :)
